The editor’s letter in your September issue really hit the nail on the head. I, for one, am disillusioned with the whole political process. Most of the Members of Parliament are there to serve their own
“kingdom.” I tried to listen to the first leaders’ debate, but I finally had to turn it off: the leaders were constantly interrupting one another (something we scold children for doing). Now, when a political advertisement comes on TV, I hit the “mute” button. Please don’t tell me what the other party is doing wrong; please tell me what you can do for me. Is this tactic of negative ads full of attacks on the opposing candidate rather than on his or her position coming across the border from the United States? If so, I strongly protest!
